Within the framework of the TRAINPOST distance-learning programme, which is based on a simpler and more user-friendly training approach, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) offers the participant trainees, in Management of Postal Operations training field, several important courses in the programme. One of them is dealing with « Postal Security ». This course is made up of six modules.

General Aims:

  1. To provide supervisors working in post offices, sortation offices and offices of exchange with the knowledge and awareness on the security concerns of the workplace.
  2. To impart to the supervisors, the knowledge of and the skills for avoiding security risks and to prevent security hazards.
  3. To equip the officials responsible for supervision with required skills to identify potential crimes against the Posts and to guard against them.

Target Population :

  1. Postal supervisors responsible for the security of personnel and property, in Post offices and Sortation offices.
  2. Supervisors of offices of exchange responsible for the processing and the transmission of mail.
  3. Supervisors at domestic and international mail exchange points.
