General Aims:

 To give postal and security personnel the knowledge and practical skills to manage “alarm” situations — the detection of potentially prohibited or dangerous items in the mailstream. Participants learn the two stages of alarm resolution, relevant UPU standards and regulations, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient handling.

Target population:

- Postal security liaisons and designated alarm resolution leads.
- Operational managers and supervisors overseeing mail screening.
- Designated operators’ safety/compliance teams.
- Staff involved in acceptance, screening, and aviation security coordination.

Requirements:
- Employment in postal operations, security, or compliance functions.
- Familiarity with general mail acceptance and screening helpful but not mandatory.
